In 2020 Cheshire Archives and Local Studies asked residents of Cheshire to contribute images of their lockdown experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of “Life in Lockdown: Your Stories Shared”. This image is one of thirty selected to represent the collection on the Cheshire Image Bank.

The pub's name comes from four cast iron eagles associated with Crewe, and it's proximity to the site of the Eagle Bridge.
